Healing SOunds

2019

Sound can be a powerful aspect of emotional healing. The Healing Sounds series was created to explore the power held in emotion, some to nurture, some to process and let go. Featured in the meditation rooms of facilities such as Ronald McDonald House, The Hope Lodge, and hospitals throughout Shanghai. We hope these sounds can provide comfort during grief, peace during healing, and euphoria during remission.

Greenberg teamed up with long time collaborators concert:nova and choreographer Charlotte Katherine to bring an evening length dance and chamber ensemble performance to the stage. Over $80,000 was raised to benefit the patients of UC Barrertt Cancer Center.

Unexpected Journey marked the begging of Musicians for Healths journey as well. After Greenberg had two grandfathers pass from cancer, he and his grandmother, Joyce Elkus, decided to help how they could. This lead to months of intensive research in every level of the experience of having cancer. Shadowing doctors, interviewing survivors,  performing for patients and caregivers. All culminating in a four movement, evening length, programatic jazz piece. Performed and recorded live at the premiere, raising over $70,000 for the UC Barrett Cancer Center. Embrace empathy through Life, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Beyond.
